Steam is picking up towards #RiseUpOctober, a National March in NYC to STOP Police Terror on October 24, #SayTheirNames and marches on October 22, and non-violent direct action on October 23.
Below, we are sharing 3 good things:
- Together, we raised our first $10,000 of the $100,000 crowd-fund campaign.
- Carl Dix will be the "Keynote Elect" at a major Night For Justice at NYU on October 1st, promoting #RiseUpOctober.
- Steering Committee member, Nkosi Anderson, is featured in a powerful interview in Revolution Newspaper speaking about how his faith tradition and moral convictions have led him to throw in with this historic effort.
There is also one very critical need that we are asking YOU to fill.
If you haven't yet, take the time today to donate generously to the crowd-funding campaign. Do it here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/riseupoctober-stop-police-terror/x/338895#/story
Once you give (or if you already did), pick up the phone and call 3 people and ask them to do the same. We need thousands of people making contributions of all sizes -- this means you giving and you mobilizing others to do the same.
An NYU student working on #RiseUpOctober recently said: "I believe silence, like inaction, is consent. Anyone who is not participating in the sparing of lives, the urging of new practices, they are complicit in the deaths that we see reported."
She is right. Lets heed her words and together make history!
