At this time, we are approaching one year since the Grand Jury refused to indict the killer cop who murdered Eric Garner on Staten Island. Struggle has broken out in Minneapolis and Chicago against cold blooded murders of Black men at the hands of police.
One year ago, on December 3, a Staten Island Grand Jury refused to indict Daniel Pantaleo, the killer cop who strangled Eric Garner to death. The video of this horrendous murder was seen all over the world. Still the crimin...al in-justice system refused to even indict NYPD officer Pantaleo. This is a slap in the face to all those who seek justice. It signals a green light that Black and Brown people have no rights that the police are bound to respect.
One year ago. Still no justice. People in New York and world won’t forget.
The world is watching. People were rising up in Minneapolis even before the white supremacist attacked protestors demanding Justice for Jamar Clark. People are rising up in Chicago against the illegitimate murder of Laquan McDonald. There is a need to push the struggle to STOP Police Terror and Murder much further.
We will come together on December 3 to demand justice now for Eric Garner, and in unity in the fight for justice for all those murdered by police! We are in a special moment where people around the country are demanding that Police Terror and Murder Must Stop. Now!
We meet on the Manhattan side of the Staten Island Ferry, at 3:30PM, on Thursday, December 3rd. We will then take the ferry over to Staten Island and rally at the place where Eric Garner was murdered.
