Ramon Jimenez Presente!

It was with great sadness that I learned of the recent death of Ramon Jimenez.
I first met Ramon through Rev. Lydia Lebron. His law office in the heart of the South Bronx, near Hostos Community College, was a major center for political action. I met him when already his activities had to be curtailed by his fight against prostate cancer. He was an early voice demanding that charges be dropped against Revolution Club leader (and Stop Mass Incarceration Network activist) Noche Diaz. While he was too sick to be involved himself in building for #RiseUpOctober, the organization that he had helped found and lead, the South Bronx Community Congress, was a major organizer and mobilizer for #RiseUpOctober.
My condolences Ramon's family and his friends and comrades.
See New York Times obituary.
