Seattle

Street corner protest against murder by police and the police murder of Freddie Gray.

People Standing Up Against The Racist And Unjust Freddy Gray Verdict

Thursday June 23, a couple dozen people came out to busy Westlake Park in the center of Seattle in response to the outrageous decision announced in Baltimore on that morning that killer cop Goodson would walk free of all charges for his role in the murder of Freddie Gray. They put on a display of agitation and education against police terror and how the system lets killer cops walk.

The mother of Daniel Covarrubias, a native man murdered by police in Lakewood Washington, was there and spoke about how the cops go unpunished for their crimes and the need for all people to unite against this police terror.  Students from Seattle University were present. Students recently held a three week long occupation of a building at this university, as part of an ongoing struggle against racism there, with specific demands to overhaul the curriculum and to remove a dean.  There were people who have been activated by the recent murder of Black man Che Taylor by Seattle police. Immigrants and people from the Black neighborhoods of Seattle stopped and listened and shared support.  The protest also included long time Seattle activists.  People held up for display the big banner that is well known in Seattle, with many faces of those killed nationwide.

Revolutionaries we there and got out the June 23 statement by Carl Dix "This Whole System Must Be Brought DOWN!!!  OUTRAGEOUS!!!  Pig Who Killed Freddie Gray Walks Totally Free
